Jose pulled Chelsea’s (creative) plug!

Well done Canada!

Nervous Chelsea?

Soccer

Jose is a master (tactician)! He out thought Conte and Manchester United outplayed Chelsea on the field.

When you play like you have nothing to lose like Spurs is doing at the moment than you are a very dangerous threat to the team at the top which is trying to hang onto a lead.

I sincerely don’t think Conte’s men were nervous; United just played a bloody good game. Herrera is the kind of player that Mourinhou likes, because he completed the task that was required of him.

Never has Chelsea’s creativity (Hazard) being stifled like this for a complete 90 minutes. Genius game plan and masterfully executed.

Liverpool passed another one of the tough tests in defeating West Brom in a scrappy affair. This is the kind of game that Liverpool would normally lose or get one point out of it only. With the Manchester derby looming large this might just be Liverpool’s chance to stay in one of the automatic Champions league spots.

Surely Sunderland will be relegated this season, because this time around they have no Sam Allardyce to give them the belief and fight to see off relegation.

As tough as it is at the top the same goes for the teams at the bottom.

Sundowns is back! From a 5-0 mauling against SuperSport United to a 1-0 scrape against Free State Stars in just a few days.

Ajax seems to be getting out of the danger zone, sitting pretty (but not completely safe) in tenth place. The challenge no doubt should be to end up in the Top 8 by the end of the season.

Chiefs are consistent at long last, but Cape Town City is still not allowing the big occasion to get the better of them. Exciting times lie ahead.

Barca and Real Madrid both managed a 3-2 win which sets up El Classico perfectly for this coming weekend. Real Madrid is sitting 3 points ahead of their title challenger so should they beat Barcelona they will lead by 6 points with a game in hand.

That should be close to handing them the La Liga title.

Well done to all the winning teams!

Rugby

Such is sport that nothing lasts forever. Not winning and also not losing.

Ask the Stormers and Bulls that were on opposite sides the past weekend. As with the Man U/Chelsea game, the Lions rocked up the hungrier in beating the Stormers as well as dominating them in most facets of the game.

The saying goes ‘once Eben starts fighting his team is losing’. Controlled aggression young man, CALM CONTROL. The New Zealanders are masters at getting opposition players on the wrong side of the referees. So, with the Stormers going on a 3-game tour of NZ, discipline will be vital and very crucial.

Finally, the Bulls have another win under the belt. I would not entirely say that they are clicking once again. That test will come against the Cheetahs who is up next.

With SA getting rid of two teams in Superrugby for next season, this game will basically be an audition between the players for Superrugby spots for next season.

Up next for the Stormers will be the mighty Crusaders. This will be a tough test as it will not just be their first game on tour, but the Crusaders haven’t lost yet.

The Sharks need to make a statement against the Rebels never mind the fact the latter has just beaten the Brumbies from Australia. They need to stamp their mark and push the Lions in the African conference.

Well done to all the winners!

Cricket

Well done on the winners thus far in IPL 2017!
