Just A Few Things Life Has Taught Me

Many people often try to drag the rest of us down, wanting us to feel sorry for them. I try and keep possible negative self-thought at bay by asking myself: ‘are you feeling sorry for yourself?'

Heck I have gone through some really tough times this year, though there have been many good things too. But, as we all know, we only start worrying about life and how hard it is, only when we get hit by a wake-up-call.

I always tell myself that every time bad luck visits my side, it is there to remind me that actually, this is life and though we do get time to sleep, sometimes we just need to stay awake all the time and expect anything and everything.

People like complaining about how hard life is, yes – we will feel sorry for you but first you have to process your life events yourself. Never be afraid or fear to cry because that’s probably your first step to understanding what feeling sorry for yourself is, but what really matters is – what are you doing while crying?

Are you just sleeping on that bed and making that pillow wet every night or you are crying while working? Are you waiting for people to spoon feed you and make decisions for you or you are finding ways to solve that problem of yours or a way to deal with that particular tragedy?

Life has its ups and downs and is not going to wait for you until everything starts working out. You need to always be ready for anything, and be prepared to fight different battles, left, right and centre.

As much as we all love comfort and having people telling us ‘everything will be alright’ – the first step to actually believing that everything will be alright is having little moments with ourselves.

Having a relationship with myself has helped me overcome most of my fears, it has helped me deal with the tragedies I have gone through and it has helped me understand and look at life with a sharp eye.

Remember, when you show effort in making yourself happy – other people will make you happy. The first step to happiness is knowing what really makes you happy, then trying to do that as often as you can. You will see how you won’t be needing, wanting or expecting people to feel sorry for you.
