Mbaks, Go Home! You're Lazy.

Is there any possible way of getting our ‘beloved’ Sport Minister out of office? I would be happier than the man who lied to his fiancé about him being the happiest man alive if Minister Fikile Mbalula would be given the boot from office. I will nae nae and whip all day long.

It is quite worrying that the Minister is a lot more active on social media and at “turn up” events than he is within the sport ministry. During the historic #FillUpTheDome with Cassper Nyovest at the TicketPro Dome, Minister Mbaks was in full support of the event and he even attended (Mbalula Money Team got hectic FOMO). There is nothing wrong with this but it odd that he didn’t even attend the African Championships of hockey, which happened on the same day.

So, I ask the question, since when do we have a Minister of Flashy Events? It is the most irritating thing to find the Minister making inappropriate comments in support of the boks but fails to even show up at a hockey match, the finals! Both the men’s and women’s hockey teams are continental champions. How many sporting codes can say they have won a major competition? It is disgusting how much respect he has for his office.

All we are asking for is to have a minister who is genuinely concerned about the development of sport codes that are outside the big 3 sport codes (Football, Rugby and Cricket). This is a trend that is a plague to South Africa. It is not very different from what the President is doing. I don’t really care how he pays for these luxury trips (okay, maybe I do), all I want to see is the less funded sport codes to receive the support they need and deserve.

Oh, and one more thing. Please sort out the mess that is Athletics South Africa and South African tennis. The ministry needs to do what they are supposed to do. Minister Mbalula must recover from his “Drunk In Love” state and improve our sport. Sport may not have the power to unite people but it has the power to change lives for the better.
