Name and Shame Corrupt ANC Elites

2016-04-16 15:42

The mass media is playing into the hands of the ANC Alliance and the EFF (the ANC decoy party) by taking their narratives seriously.

It is in the interest of these authoritarian groups to control the narrative in the mass media. Blame the foreigner for corruption. Blame the minorities for massive wealth inequalities.

These half-truth ideologies are easily absorbed into the narrow minds of the indoctrinated majority.

Using familiar pejoratives such as “White Capital” and inflated language such as the “State Capture” by a “Foreigner” are the kinds of delusions that appeal to the xenophobic prone majority.

We need to offer their narrow minds alternative and more realistic conceptions to begin the critical thinking process so that they can become truly eligible voters.

Instead of accepting the Alliance's dubious “White Capital” and “Foreign State Capture” ideologies, the mass media can offer an alternative – The Truth. They can call it “ANC Alliance Corruption”. Unlike ideologies the truth is easy to test and confirm.

We can call the test: Follow the money.

Here is a simple 10 step protocol for the thinking journalist:

1. Make a list of key ANC alliance and EFF members beginning with the President.

2. Then make a list of their immediate family members.

3. Record their wealth pre-1994.

4. Record their wealth now in 2016.

5. Assess if their wealth is connected to state tenders.

6. Record the value of their wealth.

7. If their wealth is on average higher than the average wealth of the educated South African, then this alternative narrative has merit.

8. If step 5 is valid and the value of the wealth is unduly high, then the alternative narrative has even stronger merit.

9. Then from step 8 name and shame the highest profile family members in the mass media.

10. Continue the name and shame campaign until the truth sinks into the minds of the masses.

Come on Mass Media. Move beyond your profit motive and play an educative role in this ailing democracy. Stop with the Decoy Narrative: “gupta’s, the evil foreign invaders’ and the ‘greedy white capitalists’.

Don't overemphasize the deliberate distractions. Don't fall for that clumsy sleight of hand. Focus on the right families. Focus on the family of the ANC NEC, the Communist Party, COSATU, Malema...

Expose the 'symbiotic' relationship between the ANC and Private Capital and work out the social cost of this inefficient relationship.

Start by telling us: How does the ANC-Corporate nexus work? Who are the top 10 wealthiest ANC Alliance Dynastic Families?

Make “ANC Alliance Corruption” the dominant narrative. Name and shame their complicit family members in the mass media.

Name these connected elites who unduly benefit from the ANC’s control of the state. Name these fraudsters who use political resources as opposed to personal resourcefulness to acquire their wealth.

Speak the Truth to The People.

It won't change the behavior of corrupt ANC Alliance politicians.

But we live in the hope that in another 20 years or so it may just about change the impoverished mindset of a few among the majority.

A mindset developed by ANC Alliance propaganda.

A mindset that worships authority.

Like the blind obedience of the minority to the apartheid state.
