‘Please Call Me’ inventor is Black? No way!

2016-05-03 13:21

The ‘Please Call Me’ inventor is Black. No way! Surely, it was invented by former Vodacom Group CEO, Alan Knott-Craig Snr.

When we Black men grow up, we should be like Alan Knott-Craig Snr and his son, Alan Knott-Craig Jnr. These fine gentlemen are heroes. They are not members of the Broederbond, who earned their wealth through state monopoly licences. These men are the real deal – self-made innovators. They are like SA’s version of Steve Jobs.

But we Black men can still dream, like those alcohol ads ask us to. In fact, when visiting Exclusive Books, we can skip pass the tiny section on philosophy, science and critical thinking, and go straight to the Business Section, and buy the books written by South Africa’s famous entrepreneurs.

Alan Knott-Craig Snr writes in his book “Second is Nothing”, how he invented ‘Please Call Me’ by his astute observation of two Vodacom’s security guards playing the roles of two ‘prepaid’ users without any credit to communicate on their phones. What a genius.

Now this Black run Constitutional Court claims that Nkosana Kenneth Makate is the inventor. What is wrong with this court? The White judge in the High Court found for ‘technical’ reasons Mr Makate was wrong. It was a smart White judge, like in the Chris Hani case. Can we stop with all these appeals? Our Constitutional Court judges need to go for 'technical' training.

How dare they accuse an honest White entrepreneur – stupid Constitutional Court? Do they really expect us to believe that a Black man that works in Finance can be that inventive? No ways, he is lying. It is all a fabrication.

This Black guy says he got the idea from his girlfriend who could not afford to buy airtime. No way! Product development is a complicated Whites Only thing. Role play, workshops, tea breaks, more workshops, tea breaks, observations, lunch, specifications, tea breaks, prototypes, testing, tea breaks etc. Blacks are not good at this stuff. Anyway, Mr Makate is not in tune with the Black market - he is, after all, Black. Product development is too complicated for our little Black minds.

I think it is good thinking to accuse Mr Makate of stealing the idea from the competitor, MTN. You must fight the good fight. Second is nothing, like in cricket and rugby. Anyway, Black inventors are a myth.

And these second rate White Business Journalists must stop attacking our Heroes. Focus on the corrupt Black government.

They attack Mr Knott-Craig the same way they attack our unscrupulous President and his son’s shady dealings. In fact, I forgot all about the Guptas. “Entrepreneurs are not dishonest like politicians,” you hear me.

These Journalists only stress on the corruption caused by White Entrepreneurs... day in day out, in major media outlets. Their biased Headlines in the front page read: "CEO Lies," "CEO Exploits Staff ingenuity," "CEO Deceives Staff," "CEO's Ethics Questioned," "CEO's Greed," "CEO Disgraced," etc. These biased headlines are causing an economic catastrophe.

White Business Journalists, leave your White Entrepreneur brothers alone, okay, or you won’t be invited to any product launches, golf games and fashion shows!

Focus more on Black corruption. Because if it is White, it is alright.

This is the narrative, defend it, stick with it, and continue to control the media with your rhetorical ploys.

It is a pity that the Black Politician saviour myth has lost credibility over the years among many.

Now the sacred White Entrepreneur saviour myth may be losing its status among a few.

So much deception.

Who will save us from ourselves?

PS. Google "African Inventors" and if you are open-minded to the idea that Blacks are inventive, and believe that technology can save us, you just may be inspired.
