DA Leader, Mmusi Maimane remains untrusted by vast majority Black South Africans as apartheid Bantustan leaders were.

People are asking themselves how it is that the DA has attracted at least 500 000 black supporters in its ranks. After all this is a white political party, with white centre-right liberal background and foundation. These are the oppressors of blacks a mere two decades ago. Why are these black crowds attending DA rallies or marches knowing fully well that the majority of decisions makers and influential groups within are white.

Whites, Indians and Coloreds en-masse vote for the DA. These groups keep the DA present in key areas like Pietermaritzburg, Durban, Cape Town to Port Elizabeth and Kimberly. What is also common amongst them is their historic amalgam as apartheid free or partly free men. The tri-cameral parliamentary system was for them. The minority within these groups held righteous disdain for tri-cameral parliament and its stratification of human beings and joined liberation movements. You still find minority of the whites, Indian and colored communities within black liberation and progressive political parties today but the majority of these communities have since apartheid aligned themselves with white rule and control.

When white South Africans realized they lost political power in 1994, they went to occupy that which equally matters, the corridors of economic power, mainstream media and academia. They have entrenched themselves deep within these and found favor with one organ of state, the judiciary to interpret the supreme laws written to liberate all the people and in particular the Africans in their own framing.

Justice requires money, the white community has it in buckets and they use it to reframe the legislation into their own suiting interpretation through NGO's and pseudo-public defender organizations they fund. The friends of the courts they are called. These NGOs hire still forming, talented young black people too fresh from training by the white apartheid retreaters in academia. Laws are twisted and reframed to suit a troubling right wing ideological interpretation of what was a progressive law as the legislators intended. The spirit and purpose of law is often taken to court to be rewritten to suit another meaning. Drafters of the laws have often found themselves losing cases in court over what they themselves intended the laws to mean and address. The judiciary is rewriting laws from the bench often based on what is popular media expedient. The media is largely white controlled even former Broederbond families are involved. This media ownership together with young black journalists fresh from being trained by self serving academics makes an interesting cocktail. This is where commerce, media and law is made into a convoluted proto-bantustanization of blacks.

Because it was a highly sophisticated university psychological project experiment, apartheid did not just physically control blacks but mentally too. It's writers were the foremost psychologists in South Africa. They succeeded in controlling black minds to be needing of white approval as a toddler needs his mothers approval. Although this success was not of a mass scale, especially with the inferiority exorcism success of the ANC and others, still there are blacks who have despised the ANC since the 20th century to date. Through fresh black faces, whites now use these as their spokespeople to control blacks once again as they did during apartheid through Bantustans.

Cunning in its character yet cold, whites have boldly appointed Mmusi Maimane to be their spokesman who will represent their interest in a smart way. This includes the mold of who whites want blacks to be like. The approved image and mannerisms of a black person must now be in Maimanesm form, he is a "not like them black". This suttle yet loud message is carefully orchestrated to preserve whiteness with anything possible. A manchurian candidate, Maimane today leads proto-bantustanism.

As Bantustans were, they gave a promise and a veneer of black liberation but were essentially a white privileges institution. The Maimane DA is exactly that. Talk of left and progressive politics within a right wing liberal structure. In Maimane they found a perfect manchurian candidate, well trained to sell dreams, point fingers and pulpit. Though vapid and vacuous, he knows enough about black culture to get going and this makes him a key enemy of his people. Barely two decades into democracy, the spirited white hegemony had had enough and their strategy seems to be working with the appointment of Maimane out of nowhere in 2010. Blacks are again fodder for white privileges at their expense.

On this Freedom Day, the new liberation frontier is no longer just economic freedom but freedom from mental slavery itself. Black people are not dopes. Soon they'll unmask the vanished proto-Bantustan Maimane and his cohorts as just that and nothing more.
