Rejuvenate Afrika's bona fide heritage

2014-09-23 18:04

Azania has been a poverty stricken continent, which makes me sad to celebrate this  heritage month with pride. The heritage of “ubuntu” meant love and caring back in the good olden days. It is a different story in this new Africa. People are filled with greediness and hunger for power. A simple definition of politics is allocating resources to the people. Our leaders have failed most of the country population which is cornered in poverty. When we got our first democratic state, those who were in the fore front of the new government made sure that they accumulate more wealth than anyone. Their focused was shifted from the economical development of nation.

Our brothers and sisters are being exploited and used to enrich certain individual on daily basis. It is the reason why someone can just wake up and say I want to buy myself a sports car , not even thinking about that child who does not have proper education and food in Ngqeleni or Matlerekeng. Add to that the difficulty in finding a job... We have reached a stage where by it is even difficult to get a job as a gardener or a street sweeper! This situation has made us to be submissive to a situation where are not suppose to be. The leaders that mother Africa have given birth  to have become the enemy of social and economical transformation. They continue to use the system to open doors for themselves and their comrades, while they cannot even perform well in those positions. Nepotism and cadre deployment is being used to employ people in most of the strategic positions.
I would be committing  a terrible blunder if I were to say that the sons and daughters of Azania should celebrate this flagitious heritage of arrogance and corruptions. It cannot be justified.

This is not what King Shaka, the great Hintsa, and his excellency Sekhukhune and Sir Seretse Khamba fought for.
The struggle was never initiated based on racial lines, our people wanted to benefit from the wealth of this soil. Leaders like Shaka fought for the unity of the Zulu speaking, he never cared which tribe do they belong to.

His brothers betrayed him because he was a man of the nation no one from his blood line would claim him based on the fact that they share the same grandparents.
Our land need those kind of a leaders, someone who puts the interest of the family before anything else. Statistics shows that more than 40% of the country’s population is  still trapped in the strings poverty.Meaning millions of people have inherited poverty in their lifetime. This cannot be accepted, we must atleast try to help each other develop - especially the black nation.
Most of you guys are poor and your white friends you are also heading towards that route. The numbers of white beggars is becoming  a norm in big cities, just go to Pretoria North you will agree with me.
Let us end  this heritage month with the true spirit of real unity, we may not like each other very well but what I know is that we need each other. Let us build concrete foundation where we will pave a way out from the rugs of poverty. In doing so we will also be eradicating the high levels of crime.
Let us bring forth the Afrika that believed in ubuntuisim.
