Shattered dreams of our Youth…a matter of concern for Parliament

2014-09-17 10:00

The Children of South Africa have their hopes shattered whilst the Political Party’s are busy with their “duties” of infighting at the House of Parliament. The Youth of this Country have been promised better living conditions, by those who were campaigning to get votes to be in the highest office in the Country. It has turned out that those promises have been forgotten, hence we see so much insubordination in the House of Representatives with the Opposition Party/s wasting their energies on pursuing irrelevant issues of removing the elect from their sits.

The President has managed to avoid barking dogs with the diplomatic visit to the politically volatile Lesotho that is experiencing leadership problems. Ironically living behind a country in crisis, burning issues that need a quick resolution before the country suffers the same fate as our neighbouring country.

Statistics South Africa has released shocking surveys of the lack of job opportunities amongst the Youth, especially the Black Population. It would be prudent for the Political Parties that are targeting to increase their constituency, to rather concentrate on aspects that could find a solution to ease the plight of rising Rate of Unemployment and Poor Living conditions instead of wasting the Tax Payer’s money deliberating on passing Bills of incompetency to certain Appointed Official/s.

Is it the duty of the Opposition Party’s to be pioneering on the failures of the Officials to get more sits on Parliament?

The People of Mzantsi are desperate for better and improved Standard of Living, the Government could currently engage with the all Stakeholders both Public and Private Sector in discussions that promote a progressive condition conducive in support of methods to Create sustainable Job Opportunities; encourage genuine Educational System and to find a solution to Health Care, considering the state of our Health Department…and other numerous problems we have in the Country. That is the way to gain and secure votes by putting the Constituency as priority rather than the other way round, were we now experience an environment for Political Leaders to be self serving with their own agendas. Meanwhile the democracy of this country is being compromised by the inefficiency of some of the Municipalities to apply proper measures in management that ensures Service Delivery to all citizens irrespective of status. After 20years of democracy we should be patriotic, with so much heroic liberation struggles that have befallen in the land of our ancestors. Unity should not be comprised for self gratification, these are the building blocks of success for any country both economically and politically. We are in pursuit of a balanced Socio-Economic community that strives on the values left behind by our forefathers, like Tata Nelson Mandela; Steve Biko; Oliver Tambo and others for this rainbow nation (iSizwe Sethu).
