Some Bible Verses for our Ordained President

2016-03-24 10:52

Dear Mr. President,

Since you are obviously traumatized by deadly state capture and you are an ordained priest, we thought we should reach out to you in virtuous language.

In these terrible days of state capture, ethics, logic and reason are out of place, even at the sacred ANC NEC, so here goes our biblical plea.

On the issue of the drought, depreciating rand and rising food and electricity prices, we the citizens wish:

We were hungry and you gave us food, We were thirsty and you gave us drink, We were strangers and you welcomed us. Matthew 25: 35

Speaking about strangers, on the Guptas, Guptas, Guptas, Guptas and Omar al-Bashir, we fear for your continued capture, and ask that you please replace what seems to be your favourite verse:

Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by this some have entertained angels without knowing it. Hebrews 13:2

Cursed is the man who trusts in strange men and makes flesh his strength, whose heart turns away from the People of South Africa. Jeremiah 17:5 (ok, ok, so we took some liberties in adapting this one, but it was our inner spiritual voice speaking, you understand inner voices, don’t you, Mr. President).

This is a long shot but on the issue of the Arms Deal, Nkandla and all those other iffy deals, we ask that you and your captured loyal comrades:

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility, value others above yourselves. Philippians 2:3

Here is another long shot. But we have been known to persist. And from the captured members of the NEC of your ANC, we ask:

Who is wise and understanding among you? Let them show it by their good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom. James 3:13

And here is a good reason why we think your legacy should have been about your personal sacrifices for the next generation and not state capture:

For the fate of the sons of men and the fate of beasts is the same. As one dies so dies the other; indeed, they all have the same breath and there is no advantage for man over beast, for all is vanity. Ecclesiastes 3:19

You see Mr President, ultimately:

Whoever oppresses the poor to increase his own wealth, or gives to the rich, will only come to poverty. Proverbs 22:16

And our last word of counsel, Mr President. Listen carefully. This is gospel. This is a clarion call. This is prophetic. You can hear it in our Nation’s most solemn prayer. It implores:

You and your most loyal comrades to retire from service and not work anymore. Citizens 2016:55M

Yours sincerely

Concerned Citizens of South Africa

PS. Our inner voices tell us that the state has been captured... by ANC corruption. This is probably just a wild theory that will not effect your agenda setting.
