South Africa is dead. Time to leave?

2017-07-15 10:35

You probably think South Africa is still your country, that it is our constitutional democracy.

You are wrong. South Africa is dead. It is no more.

South Africa is a slave state, a police state. South Africa is a disgrace.

South Africa is dead.

Our constitution is supposed to be our joint agreement of how we all live together, help each other, and ensure that just a few us will never again be able to exploit the rest of us.

It starts something like this:

We therefore, through our freely elected representatives, adopt this Constitution as the supreme law of the Republic so as to

- Heal the divisions of the past and establish a society based on democratic values, social justice and fundamental human rights;

- Lay the foundations for a democratic and open society in which government is based on the will of the people and every citizen is equally protected by law;

- Improve the quality of life of all citizens and free the potential of each person; and

- Build a united and democratic South Africa able to take its rightful place as a sovereign state in the family of nations.”

Rubbish.

The above statement no longer has anything to do with the real South Africa. South Africa is now the embodiment of everything BUT the above statement.

The truth? Here it is:

We therefore, as the corrupt political elite, ignore this Constitution and its laws of the Republic, which we selectively apply, so as to

- Inflame and exploit the divisions of the past so as to establish a police state which we can plunder at will;

- Lay the foundations for a kleptocracy in which government is based on the will of the corrupt elite and all subjects are equally threatened by our paid thugs;

- Improve the quality of our lives as the corrupt elite whilst extracting as much as we can from the lives of others;

- Build a banana republic able to repress and kill in order to take its rightful place as a dictatorship run for the corrupt benefit  of us, our friends and families”

Let me repeat this. The above statement is ALREADY THE TRUTH of South Africa. You are no longer a citizen of a constitutional democracy. You are a mere subject of a corrupt elite, serving at their pleasure.

They steal Rbillions. They destroy lives. They destroy our future. They take the wealth of our country for themselves and hide it in foreign lands.

We all know who the corrupt are. The majority of ANC leadership are the corrupt elite that rule us, together with the corrupt and powerful in the private sector. We know what they stole, the laws they broke, how they did it. It’s written in the newspapers every day, on TV every day, on radio every day.

And nothing happens.

Our country, our South Africa, is broken, dead, finish en klaar.

Everything you see around you is a sham, a fake. You are playing a fake role in a fake country,  a movie set where we all act together to maintain the illusion of living in an actual country. People driving to work, keeping to speed limits, stopping so metro cops can fine them if they break the law. Paying fines… Idiots. You, and me, we get in our cars, go to work, earn money and pay tax. Good little sheeple. Idiots.

Law is fake. Tax is fake.

Laws apply to the stupid subjects only, not to the corrupt elite.

Tax applies to the stupid subjects only, not to the corrupt elite.

You are not a citizen. You are a subject of the corrupt elite.

The poor suffer and will suffer the most. They have no jobs, pay no tax and have no future. Let me repeat that. Our current South Africa offers no hope for its poor. Nothing, zero, zilch. Under the disgusting rule of our corrupt elite, the poor will just get poorer, live hard lives and die young.

Our country is a tragedy.

It makes me feel foolish for doing this TEDx talk on how we can build a better future for all in South Africa.

My hopeful TEDx talk on creating a bright future for all in South Africa

Can South Africa be saved? No, it cannot.

The ANC will not send its own corrupt elite to jail.

For South Africa to be saved, the ANC must get less than 50% of the vote in 2019.

The governing coalition parties would then start applying the laws of our country.

The corrupt elite would then go to jail. Hundreds, perhaps thousands, of the corrupt and powerful would go to jail.

Then we could again focus on building a South Africa for the many and not the few.

Unfortunately, the corrupt and powerful will not allow this. They will not allow the ANC to obtain less than 50% of the vote. They will do whatever it takes to stay in power and stay out of jail.

There will be no free and fair election in 2019.

It is over. Finish en klaar.

Is it time to flee South Africa, to run if you can? If you are reasonably wealthy, if you are a professional with qualifications and skills sought by the international community, should you leave? Whether you are black, white, pink or green, if you can - has the time come to abandon ship South Africa?

I am starting to think so.

Am I wrong? I hope so.

Please tell me that I am dead wrong.

Please tell me that our country can be saved.

Please tell me that I must stay, that you must stay, that we can all still stand together, save our country and build a beautiful future for us all.

That is after all why I came back to South Africa in 2007.

It’s why I did my talk on how we can build a great future for us all.

Or am I just a crazy dreamer and you and I should pack our bags and run?
