Zareef Minty: Ben Pol Wants Mi Casa or Cassper Collab

  1. Ben Pol you are a major African artist, you are loved all over Africa and around the globe. How does it feel to be so successful?

BP: Thank you Zareef.  I feel blessed and have so far thoroughly enjoyed my journey as an artist but feel that I still have a lot to accomplish.  I want to take this opportunity to thank all the people who believed in me over the years and supported me, including my team, my fellow artists, the fans and the media.

  1. What do you owe your success to?

BP: Passion, dedication, perseverance, determination, hard work, and a deep desire to succeed and improve over time...and divine intervention!

  1. What's the best part about making music for you?

BP: Music is a universal way to connect with people.   I enjoy that connection, particularly when I'm on stage or when I meet my fans.  However I would be lying if I said I did not enjoy the actual process of making music, from working with talented producers to create a melody to writing lyrics that touch people.

  1. Where do you see the Ben Pol brand the next 5 years?

BP: I would like to expand internationally while continuing to delight my fans at home in Tanzania.  I'm also very keen to give back and support aspiring artists in achieving their ambitions, particularly in Africa.  And finally I would like the Ben Pol brand to be one that fellow artists want to be associated with.

  1. What's next for Ben Pol?

BP: A Moyo Mashine tour in Tanzania, an official Moyo Mashine remix with a major Nigerian artist, and continued preparations for the release of my next album.

  1. What is your ultimate goal?

BP: My ultimate aspiration is to leave a legacy, to create music that will touch and inspire today and for the generations to come.

  1. What advice do you have for the millions of young African kids that look up to you?

BP: Love what you do and do what you love.   Also make sure you dedicate yourself to improving and learning continuously.

  1. Have you ever been to South Africa? Do you like it?

BP: I had the pleasure to go to South Africa twice in the last year, each time to shoot videos, first for my single Ningefanyaje and then again for Moyo Mashine.   I really enjoyed it, from the emotion of discovering Mandela square for the first time to the variety in sceneries to spontaneous meetings with local artists.

  1. If you do like South Africa, what do you like the most about South Africa?

BP: Its historical legacy and significance in Africa and the world over.

  1. Would you like to collaborate with any South African artists? If so, who?

BP: I would love to collaborate with Mi Casa and Cassper Nyovest. And I have already collaborated with Speedy on a track yet to be released.

I believe you are willing to share your latest single with our readers and viewers, you are giving away 5 CDs to fans in South Africa and 5 CDs to fans in Tanzania. All the CDs are signed by you. Please view Ben Pol's Instagram account (@iambenpol) for more information on the competition.
