The launch of Mhlanga Development Forum

2014-12-26 17:06

This day marks one the most prominent moments in the history of the people of Mhlanga Village, Lady Frere Eastern Cape.

As they launch an organisation whose aim is to assist the underprivileged and also contribute in shaping a united society.

Mhlanga Development Forum is the name of the organisation.

As we all know that if we work together we can be able to achieve one common goal, which is to eradicate unemployment and poverty.

I think it is about high time that the people of Afrika realize that we can no longer depend on the government in order to build up our communities. It is up to us to change the current situation that we find ourselves in (poverty, unemployment, crime, corruption)

The government can do better if we have such organisations which involve public participation, especially on challenges that they face on daily basis.

“Change will not come if we wait for some other person, or if we wait for some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.”

Barack Obama

I must say that I am very proud of this step that has been taken by the people of Mhlanga; people have made it a point that they contribute whatever they have to make sure that they build the forum without any assistance from the government.

With organisations like MDF a people can identify problems facing their communities and be able to solve them without having to wait for the government.

My message is that we must work together; if you can sponsor any organisation which is willing to make change in people's lives please do so.

The government and the people at large must come together to achieve this national objective of eliminating poverty and unemployment.

People of Afrika let us work toward making this continent a better place for all.
