The Murder of Senzo Meyiwa: Allowing Calm and Synchronicity in these times of National Sorrow

Sometimes we are steeped into science that we readily deny or fail to get into grips with the compelling essentials of life that goes beyond science. But now and often nature ruthlessly reminds us that there is a vast world beyond science, a world that we cannot get into by science but it is there nonetheless.

This aspect has grabbed me during this week of national sorrow and sadness as I was grappling with the horrific and dramatic murder of Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa. I might say the murder impacted me in a very strange manner.

Apparently I was born with a huge bump of curiosity. And I have always sought to connect dots to complex life mysteries. This quest has taken me to many strange places, and caused me to read every book I could lay my hands on dealing with ancient magic, voodoo, coueism and so on. Through my life, the insatiable quest to understand all varied spiritism had took me to scary places all over the world; I observed phrenologists, crystal ball gazers, spider web worshipers, the power of the kahunas, and so on. I acquainted myself with the teachings of the Light Institute in the deep mountain forests of Mexico.

Going beyond science there are concepts such as synchronicity and clustering effects that are used to describe, the force and power of the supernatural world on the drama of everyday life.

Synchronicity is a word constructed from two Greek terms, and it means "joined with" and with "time."  Synchronicities cluster around significant events. For instance how do we explain what is happening currently in this country?

Just when the country has wrapped up the dramatic and horrific murder case of Reeva Steenkamp and the country about to return to normalcy another incident that has similar characteristics emerges out. The yet another dramatic horrific murder of Senzo Robert Meyiwa, how do we connect the invisible dots? Both these persons died in front of their lovers. Both involve famous sporting icons. Both murders happened on one series of time wavelength.

Biologist Paul Kammerer in his 1919 book, The Law of the Series notes that coincidences are a series of occurrences of the same or similar things or events which are not connected by the same active cause. He further attests that synchronicity is the strikingly meaningful coincidence of two events or of a series of events.

It is because of synchronicity that we have the adages that a lightning always strike twice in the same spot, and that there are no accidents in life just sacred geometry, the evolution of consciousness in the alchemy of time.

Physicists have shown, for example, that if two photons are separated, no matter by how far, a change in one creates a simultaneous change in the other.

“We readily acknowledge that life is a profound problem, and that we are surrounded by mystery on every side” – AW Pink.

Carolyn North, author of Synchronicity: The Anatomy of Coincidence writes that: Synchronicity gives us a sense of hope, a sense that something bigger is happening out there than what we can see, which is especially important in times like this when there are so many reasons for despair."

“We are dragged along by fate to the destiny we refuse to walk toward upright.” - Carl Jung (1875 - 1961), Psychiatrist and psychotherapist.
