the no vote campaign... right or wrong

2014-04-25 08:42

The South African Black society is still trapped under the “system” of confusion since the advent of free election, in 1994. The constant “confusion” that exists within Parties is a reminder of the past Apartheid regime propaganda that is embedded in the minds of our Leaders and the entrusted Official/s in the Government Departments who are intent on corruption and unscrupulous acts to self enrichment and prestige. It’s a phenomenon similar to chaining an ass to a pole and when it’s free it still remains chained, the effect of freedom is enclosed by years of slavery. It is also the reason that we find so much dissension and discord in our political arena prior to the 7th of May elections.

The minority of dissenters have quickly forgotten the torturous years under the Tripartite Alliance that saw the magirnalisation of the majority of people, living them with less than nothing of dignity and deprived of all Human Rights.

The disgruntled citizens who have crossed to the other side and opted to join the Opposition Parties, have never experienced true liberty, hence they perceive Freedom as being incessantly tied to the pole. The choice to choose not to vote or to canvass for the Party that is imbued in self gratification and misrepresentation of the misguided populace is not a choice but a mind in captivity.

It is that time we should reconsider our true identity as the African Nation (iSizwe sethu) that is characterized by its unique culture of Ubuntu, hence we should carefully cast our most decisive votes in 20yrs of our Democratic Constitution of South Africa, and stand united for the respect of all our Liberation Struggle Comrades.

It is the duty of the elected Party to adhere to their Mandates, with a set of discreet principles that guide the implementation of objectives, and with a policy of checks and balances and accountability procedures in place.

The African People have been united in the fight against Colonialism’s aftermath of Capitalism, that resulted to socio-economic segregation of races and where ultimately subdued due to the rule of divide and rule, it is the reason that now at this point in time we should strategies and remember the heroes and heroines who stood their ground against all opposing forces for the liberation of our people, Tata Nelson Mandela; Raymond Mhlaba; Oliver Tambo; Govern Mbeki; Steve Biko; and Walter Sisulu with others who diligently sacrificed their lives. A moral code of conduct that governs the state of affairs should be the standard that is set to measure the NDP Implementation Policies meant to address Service Delivery and subsequently create Job Opportunities and the Entrepreneurship spirit in our Young generation.
