White Fears in Our “Non-Racial” Democracy?!

2016-11-21 18:36

On Monday, 7 November 2016, the EFF’s “Commander-in-Chief”, Julius Malema, addressed supporters outside the Newcastle Magistrate’s Court, and is alleged to have said the following:

“We are not calling for the slaughtering of White people, at least for now.”

“White minorities be warned. We will take our land. It doesn’t matter how. It’s coming, unavoidable. The land will be taken by whatever means necessary.”

These words are obviously “spine-chilling” for South African Whites to hear – I’m a White South African and I can assure you that I find these words to be “spine-chilling”!

As a minority group, South African Whites therefore need to start asking the question:

“Are we, as Whites, wanted, or needed, in South Africa? And if not, whereto from here?”

I must say, I never thought that I would be asking such questions in the “New South Africa”, but ask these questions, we now must!

South Africa, under Nelson Mandela, promoted "racial reconciliation" in a very big way.

Under Thabo Mbeki, “racial reconciliation” started to be de-emphasised in favour of other priorities – I recall that this policy shift was openly stated as such!

And under Jacob Zuma “racial reconciliation” appears to have all but disappeared!

I’ve asked myself - what have people like me done to be racially-classified for “special treatment”?

And I’m deliberately being vague as to what “special treatment” may entail!

To explain where I’m coming from, I believe that it’s relevant for me to describe my background:

I’m a second-generation South African - the ONLY child of middle-class parents.

I attended government primary and high schools.

My parents paid for my first 3 years’ fees at university, with the remaining 7 years’ fees being paid by me (done by studying part-time).

At the end of 12 years, I had a bachelor's degree, an honours degree, a university “Certificate in the Theory of Accountancy”, and a professional qualification, to show for it – all earned through a lot of hard work ie attending lectures, and studying, in the evenings and over weekends.

I subsequently got married and have two children – two’s all that I could afford!

That’s three generations of middle-class South Africans, who’ve had families of manageable (financial) size, who’ve worked hard to succeed, and who’ve paid their taxes to, amongst other things, subsidise the Nation's poor.

The BIG QUESTION therefore is:

Are certain of my Black compatriots seriously saying that I’m not entitled to keep the home that I’ve worked so hard to pay for, BECAUSE I’m a White?

If the answer is “yes” to that question, then SA will be going way beyond the fiasco that’s been “Zimbabwe under Robert Mugabe”!

The Whites of this country therefore either need:

• The STRONG support of their moderate Black compatriots and the ANC, in particular (to counter anti-White aggression/sentiment);

• To leave South Africa for “who-knows-where”! (I suspect that most SA Whites have nowhere else to go).

Of course, the ANC Government has the primary role to play in allaying the understandable fears of Whites – but it currently appears to be unconcerned about this!

In recent years, the Party’s been far too preoccupied with its own political survival and, in fact, often does/says things that exacerbate inter-racial tensions.

I’m an avid “scholar” of World War II, including the rise of Nazi Germany, and I fear that the similarity between the racial threats that we’ve recently heard in SA, and those that were heard in 1930's Nazi Germany, are disturbingly close!

And, on the subject of the Nazis, perhaps it would be appropriate to mention (German) Protestant pastor Martin Niemöller’s ** well-known quote:

“First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out - because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out - because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out - because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me - and there was no one left to speak for me.”

Peace-loving South Africans need to take heed of this warning!!

** Martin Niemöller was a courageous critic of the Nazis and spent the last 7 years of the Third Reich's existence in concentration camps.
