Women’s Day Song for SA’s Fiercest Fighters

2016-08-08 12:48

Women’s Day dedications are often tricky. Even the warmest, fuzziest messages can quickly go downhill.

It’s important that we appreciate people that make a difference in our lives. Lately a crop of strong, young women is emerging. These are young women that aren’t afraid to voice their opinions. They take action in scenarios where even a lot of men turn a blind eye. Women that are redefining their place in modern society. They are more than just a racy Instagram handle. They use their platforms to inspire positive change instead of just retweets.

This day comes only once. It’s hard to do anything meaningful in just a day. That’s why I felt like a spoof song was appropriate, yabo?  I personally know that a lot of serious subjects can be addressed from a lighter perspective. I’ve written a parody about my frustrations with NSFAS, alcohol abuse and other issues. Let me know what you think of my and Nkululeko Dini's Women’s Day song to all of South Africa’s female leaders?
