Many people might be tempted to just work in their pyjamas while working from home.

But apart from the odd video conference with your colleagues in which you need to look presentable, there’s also the danger of possibly becoming depressed if you don’t follow your usual routine.

For some people, working from home can put their mental health at risk, causing feelings of isolation and disconnection, says Ryan Hooper, a Chicago-based clinical psychologist.

Waking up at a regular time each day, showering and getting dressed will help to mitigate these feelings of detachment, recommends Jane Sudder, an American certified personal development and career transition coach.

Here are five clothing ideas that are perfect for WFH.

1. Classic shirt

A button-down shirt always looks stylish and right now oversized shirts are back in fashion. Wear it with jeans or even your gym tights to keep things comfortable.

2. Neutral colours

Neutral colours are serene and relaxing, and shades of brown, especially, create a calming effect.

3. Cute dress

Just because you can’t leave the house doesn’t mean you can’t plan a romantic evening with your partner after work. A cute dress is just the ticket and works just as well if you’re doing a video call earlier in the day with colleagues.

4. Chic comfort

This outfit is perfect for busy moms with kids who still have to put in a day’s office work. It’s comfortable and the top is so fashionable right now.

5. Snuggly jersey

The cooler autumn weather is the perfect excuse for a snuggly jersey. Regardless of your outfit, a jersey is a great accessory.
