You probably know that it’s responsible for your skin’s elasticity and helps to keep your joints healthy. It’s also found in your tendons, cartilage, bones and connective tissue. 

Collagen is a structural protein, meaning that it makes up the structure or framework of your cells and tissues. But as you age your existing collagen breaks down and from your early 20s it gets harder for your body to produce more.

These days of course you can get it in supplement form and collagen powder has become all the rage, with celebs such as Jennifer Aniston, Kate Hudson and Kim Kardashian singing its praises.
