14-year-old shoots mother and younger brother – then tries to frame father

Before calling the police on Wednesday morning, Jacob Remaley, from Pennsylvania in the US, reportedly woke up from his bed and made his way to the kitchen where he would load the murder weapon.

Then, he allegedly shot his mother Dana in the forehead at close range, before doing the same to his 8-year-old brother Caleb.

But this is not the story of events given when Jacob called 911.

“Jacob Remaley called 911 just before 7 a.m. Wednesday, saying his mom and younger brother were dead and his father placed a gun in his bed before leaving the house,” State Police Trooper Stephen Limani said at a news conference.

According to The Daily News, the teenager initially attempted to frame his father by claiming that he had placed the murder weapon in his bed.

Police and Medical Aid ruled this out when it was discovered that the father, David Remaley, was at work during the incident.

Jacob’s mental health has also been brought to question as he kept repeating the word ‘mom’ when medics arrived.

A family friend described the accused as a polite, kind straight-A student who was involved in sports and in church.

"He's such a good kid," Anita Stoner told WTAE-TV. "If you could pick a friend for your kid it would be Jacob."

She added that Dana Remaley was always ready to offer a helping hand.

"I don't know what I'm going to do without her," she said. "She was always there for me."

The investigation continues.
