One of the things I love about Pinterest is it’s like having an infinite cookery book with contributions from fine cooks around the world. But how many times have you been put off making that scrummy-looking jumbo shrimp and snow pea salad with cilantro dressing on a bed of arugula because you don’t recognise half the ingredients? Or because the measurements and oven temps are all in imperial measures?
Some of the fabulous-looking dishes we’ve pinned to our Pinterest Kos/Food board this week are a case in point. So I’ve gathered the information I most often look for as a South African home cook and put it all together in five charts in the hope you’ll find it useful. Just remember that the conversions are approximate so they’re not good for fine baking.
