The decision to can several beloved international shows on SABC in favour of more South African offerings left many viewers' blood boiling.
It appears the audience's ire (and the poor ratings that followed) have prompted SABC 3 to revisit the decision -- and they're bringing back another fan favourite!
Survivor's 28th season, which takes place on the island of Cagayan in the Philippines, starts on 3 October and will air in the 8 pm to 9 pm slot.
It means Divas of Jozi, will be off the schedule. Despite poor reception of the local reality show, SABC 3 publicity coordinator Doulha Domingo told YOU it has not been canned.
"The first season Divas of Jozi is coming to an end, so Survivor will replace it," she said.
This comes hot on the heels of the news that beloved soapie Days of our Lives will return to the channel.
The show was quietly slipped back into the schedule from 22 August. However, the new 11.30 pm slot didn't sit well with many die-hard Days fans.
