Ants ring woman's doorbell all night

A German woman has been kept awake by ants ringing her doorbell.

The 75-year-old from Offenburg was so frustrated by someone ringing the bell while she was trying to sleep she called the police, who carried out a full investigation only to discover it was the tiny social insects.

A large nest had been created by the colony of ants inside the doorbell's mechanism, which led to them pressing the switch part together on a regular basis.

But the police solved the problem by removing the rest.
