Beyoncé spends thousands on Kelly's baby gifts

Beyoncé Knowles has reportedly treated Kelly Rowland to a R2,7 million ($250 000) private chef.

The two singers were part of girl band Destiny's Child and have remained close friends even though the group isn't together any more.

Kelly was thrilled when Beyoncé and her husband Jay Z welcomed their daughter Blue Ivy into the world in January 2012, and her pal was just as excited when Kelly gave birth to her and her husband Tim Witherspoon's son Titan earlier this month. To mark the occasion, Beyoncé is said to have splashed out on a series of gifts.

Among those is a private chef who will whip up treats for the family for the next year, leaving Kelly and Tim free to spend as much time as possible with their little boy.

According to British magazine Heat, Beyoncé also arranged for a hand-painted cot to be created for Titan. It boasts his name in gold and came with a R551 000 ($50 000) price tag. That would be enough for most people, but the superstar singer also picked out a suit and leather jacket by Versace for R2800 ($260) and Louis Vuitton diaper bag worth R24 000 ($2 200).

Also in the bumper gift package was a teddy for the tot, which is encrusted with diamonds and set the singer back R110 000 ($10 000).

All of this comes after Kelly treated Beyoncé to a big present when she gave birth. The star is said to have gifted a Swarovski crystal-studded baby bath that cost R57 000 ($5 200).

It probably took her some time to come up with the idea as she's previously said she was stuck for inspiration.

"I have no idea what I’m going to buy Beyoncé at the baby shower because Jay is going to buy that little girl every single thing possible,” she previously laughed. “She won’t be spoiled, but she will be very well looked-after.”
