About 5 000 police officers are deployed for the day, 900 of which are stationed along the route of the wedding procession.
About 1700 serving soldiers line the route and act as ceremonial escorts for the wedding parade, which consists of Kate and William’s open-air horse-drawn carriage and four other carriages.
The Blues and Royals of the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment, together with the Life Guards, offer added protection by escorting the carriages transporting Queen Elizabeth II and William and Kate.
It was also reported that snipers line the rooftops along the route.
