An Indian billionaire couple will splash out hundreds of thousands of pounds for Prince Charles' birthday bash.
Cyrus and Priya Vandrevala are arranging a huge concert by the British Philhamonia Orchestra in November as entertainment to go along with a three-course meal at Buckingham Palace in London to mark the prince’s 65th birthday.
A spokesman for the palace has confirmed the party will go ahead on 21 November ? a week after the prince's birthday on 14 November ? but refused to comment as it’s a "private" event.
The Prince of Wales ? who’s a patron of the London-based orchestra ? will select the music himself and the whole set will focus on the German composer Wagner.
The couple ? who live in the affluent area of Holland Park in central London ? are involved in a number of charity projects through the Vandrevala Foundation and are said to be rather friendly with Charles and his wife, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall.
A spokesman for the Vandrevala Foundation is quoted in the India Times newspaper as saying, "The evening connects with their philanthropic work as the Philharmonia Orchestra supports impoverished performers through its trust."
