Britney Spears' ex-fiancé inspired a lot of her upcoming album.
The 31-year-old singer, who’s inked a deal for a two-year residency called Piece of Me, at Planet Hollywood Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, ended her engagement with Jason Trawick in January and says writing about their split helped her to get over him.
She told Good Morning America in New York City yesterday, "During this album, I had a break-up with Jason [Trawick] that I went through, that I wrote a lot about. They suck! Break-ups suck, man."
The former couple got engaged in December 2011 after two years of dating, and Britney has been dating Dave Lucado since they split.
The Scream & Shout hitmaker also briefly mentioned her ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake, from whom she split in 2002 after three years together, and first romanced in 1992 on the The Mickey Mouse Club.
During a lightning round of questions, she was asked what age she had her first kiss, and said, "Oh my God, maybe 13. It was Justin."
Britney's new album will be released on 3 December.
