Cash-strapped Amanda ‘can’t afford a home’

The 28-year-old actress is currently under the conservatorship of her parents Lynn and Rick, who are said to be giving her gift cards instead of money.

But due to not having any cash, Amanda is said to be unable to pay a deposit or rent on an apartment of her own, so has been having to stay with friends.

According to TMZ.com, Amanda has been staying with three girlfriends in a West Hollywood apartment for the past few days.

But while one of the women is Amanda’s close friend and hair stylist, the star is said to be aware that the living arrangements are anything but a long-term solution.

The website claims that Amanda is doing her best to plead with her parents to give her enough money to get her own place to live.

Last month Amanda was put under a 5150 hold and spent time in hospital after weeks of worrying behaviour. The involuntary hold, used when people are deemed a danger to themselves and others, was lifted on Friday and Amanda was allowed to leave the facility.

During similar circumstances last year her parents insisted their daughter had no mental illness and that her problems had been caused by marijuana. However, on Tuesday Amanda appeared to distance herself from those claims on Twitter.

"I need to get an apartment and my parents won't give me access to any of my funds," she wrote.

"I was diagnosed bi - polar and manic depressive so I'm on medication and I'm seeing my psychologist and pyshchiatrist weekly so I'm fine :D

"I'm not living with my parents

"I'm not legally obligated to (sic)".

Rick and Lynn obtained a conservatorship order over Amanda when she was hospitalised, meaning they control her personal and professional affairs. However, it seems she is unhappy with the arrangement and is already planning ways to have it lifted.

"My lawyer said if I comply with the courts and take my meds and see my psychologist and pyshchiatrist weekly then I will get unconserved (sic)," she added.
