The Oscar-winning actress, who was dressed down in a pair of loose black pants and a light-blue top, adopted the little girl, now almost three, from a family in the USA in 2015. Three years before she adopted a baby boy named Jackson from SA.

Last year the 40-year-old revealed that while she's still a passionate actress and activist, her number one priority are her kids.

"Nothing's better than the sound of little ones cracking up at something funny," she told the UK's Sunday Style. "I'm now at my most comfortable waking up with my kids, going to the beach and relaxing over a meal with friends."

In an interview with The Today Show last year, the 41-year-old spoke about her admiration for her own mother, Gerda, who reportedly lives with her, saying, "She raised me to always encourage me to be my own person . . . and that teaches great independence and confidence.

"I would hope to have my son feel the same way about himself. And kind of go and discover the world in his own skin."

Meanwhile, the Benoni-born star is currently filming the dark comedy, Gringo, which co-stars Paris Jackson and another SA actor, Sharlto Copley.

It stars David Oyelowo as a US businessman who finds himself going from citizen to criminal after an incident in Mexico. It's set to open in March next year.
