She may be an international TV star, but Pearl Thusi has just shown the world what her favourite role is – mother to her daughter, Thandolwethu (9).
On a quick visit to Mzansi over the weekend, the Quantico actress surprised Thando by meeting her at the door of their Johannesburg home – leaving the little girl in tears.
"Why are you crying?" Pearl asks Thando in the video as she buries her face in her mom's neck. "I missed you!" Thando replies.
Pearl shared the heartrending moment with her Instagram fans.
"To all the mothers, and fathers, making incredible sacrifices to provide and make a difference," she wrote.
"As much as this breaks my heart it also makes me realise how much harder I have to work to make this worth it for the sacrifice my child is making unknowingly. I'm so proud of how strong she has been. So proud," read the touching post.
Pearl joined the cast of hit US TV series Quantico earlier this year in the role of CIA recruit Dayana Mampasi.
The role is Pearl's big break – but it means she's away from home and her daughter for months at a time.
But even so, the actress made sure she didn't miss out on this opportunity to see her mini-me, even if it was just for a short stay before returning to set.
