
A woman survived a hit-and-run crash in Newtown, central Johannesburg, metro police said on Wednesday.
CCTV footage of the incident was posted on the Crime Intelligence and Community Awareness – South Africa Facebook page.
A white bakkie knocked the woman down as it turned the corner at the intersection of Bree and Gerard Sekoto streets on Tuesday afternoon, Chief Superintendent Wayne Minnaar said.

She was dragged under the left front wheel. She survived and was taken to Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital.
Police spokesperson Captain Kay Makhubela said nothing had been reported to them.
“With hit-and-runs, we rely on bystanders and anyone who has information to come forward.”
