Chad has a heart of gold to match his medal

As if we don’t love him enough already, the golden boy of South African swimming, showed this week he’s no ordinary sport star – he has a good heart and generous spirit too.

Olympic medallist Chad le Clos wants the Durban schoolboy who was named KwaZulu-Natal sportsman of the year by mistake to keep the award.

“Let him keep the title and the prize money,” Chad’s dad, Bert, said on his behalf this week.

A technical error during the KZN Sport Awards last week led to Reneshan Naidoo, a badminton player of Durban High School being given the award, IOL reports.

At the event, Chad received the award as KZN Sport Star of the Year. He attended the event with his father and shared a photo on Twitter.

Chad shared this photo on Twitter with the caption: "Me and pops heading to the KZN awards."
