Chad’s in paradise

It should be no surprise that Chad le Clos (20), swimming’s new golden boy, is like a fish in water – his family hails from the island of Mauritius, with its blue sea and long white beaches. You too can experience this first-hand by entering our competition below!

Sun Resorts’ Long Beach hotel, where he’s been staying with dad Bert (55) and mom Geraldine (48), is paradise for an Olympic hero.

It’s a well-deserved break for Chad after his gold-medal triumph in the 200 m butterfly at the Olympic Games in London.

Bert, sitting at the opposite end of the table, emigrated from Mauritius to South Africa with his parents 50 years ago. He’s brought Chad back here after all the Olympic excitement. Chad was here once before, when he was eight. It’s an emotional return for him, even though he recalls little of his earlier trip. “I get the feeling I also belong here,” he says. It’s managed by Sun Resorts, which also owns and runs the Sugar Beach, La Pirogue, Ambre and Le Touessrok hotels on the island. World Leisure Holidays offers a variety of tailored travel packages to these and other resorts in Mauritius.
