Chris Martin has reportedly declined an honour from his hometown of Exeter.
The Coldplay frontman was under consideration by officials in his historic home city in Devon, England to be the recipient of the freedom of Exeter - which would have given him permission to draw a sword in public and drive livestock through the city centre. But Chris turned down the centuries-old accolade before a vote could take place, insisting he’s undeserving, according to a city council spokesperson. “He said he’d like to be considered, but not at the moment as he hasn’t yet done enough for the city,” the spokesperson told UK newspaper The Sun.

Admiral Lord Nelson previously received the honour.
Chris has been focused on his music as of late.
The singer announced his separation from wife Gwyneth Paltrow in March and hit the road for a tour soon after.
In a recent interview, the star revealed his work helps him to “alchemise” his feelings.
“My job is so uplifting and that naturally is an endorphin,” he told BBC Radio 2 back in July. “I am very lucky I have some good teachers and good people who have written some great things that make you able to alchemise.
“Music, especially over the last couple of years has been very alchemising. I mean if you are going through something difficult in life or whatever and music for me is always a friend and something that helps me figure things out,” he said.
