Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have been hands-on parents throughout their relationship -- but in a surprise move, Mrs Jolie-Pitt has requested full physical custody of their children.
Court documents reveal the actress and activist (41) has offered joint legal custody of their brood. But she's requested full physical custody, meaning Brad (52) will only get visitation rights to Maddox (15), Pax (12), Zahara (11), Shiloh (10) and twins Knox and Vivienne (8).
It emerged that Angelina had filed for divorce from her husband of two years on 20 September -- but at this point the couple had already been separated for five days, People reports.
"Angelina Jolie Pitt has filed for dissolution of the marriage," Angelina's attorney told the outlet.
"This decision was made for the health of the family. She will not be commenting at this time, and asks that the family be given their privacy during this difficult time."

In a statement, Brad said: "I am very saddened by this, but what matters most now is the well being of our kids. I kindly ask the press to give them the space they deserve during this challenging time."
The couple met on the set of 2005 action film Mr & Mrs Smith when Brad was still married to Jennifer Aniston.
Brad and Angelina have been together since 2005 but did not marry until 2014, when they tied the knot in a lavish ceremony at Chateau Miraval in the south of France.
In recent years the demands of their Hollywood careers and Angelina’s extensive humanitarian work have meant they have spent long periods on separate sides of the globe.
However last year they teamed up to make By the Sea, a movie following an unhappily married couple. Their last official appearance together came at the premiere of the film last November.
Their last reported appearance together in public was at a restaurant in West Hollywood in July for a family breakfast in celebration of twins Knox and Vivienne’s eighth birthday.
