Debra Messing and boyfriend Will Chase have ended their relationship. The 46-year-old actress began dating the 44-year-old actor after they co-starred on the musical drama series Smash in late 2011. Their union is now said to have ended, but on amicable terms.
'Debra Messing and Will Chase have ended their two-and-a-half year relationship'
"Debra Messing and Will Chase have ended their two-and-a-half year relationship," Debra’s representative told Us Weekly on Monday. "But [they] remain close friends."
The NBC show that brought them together was cancelled in April 2013 due to low ratings. During its lifetime, Debra played Broadway lyricist Julia Houston whilst Will portrayed her former lover Michael Swift.
The Will & Grace favourite had previously raved about how much fun she had on that set. She added her compliments to the cast, which included her then-boyfriend.
"The amount of fun I'm having on this show is so ridiculous -- off the charts already," she said at the TCA panel for Smash back in January 2012. "The cast is so accomplished, so committed."
Prior to Will, Debra was married to actor-and-writer Daniel Zelman, who she met when they were both students at New York University. The actress filed for divorce in June 2012, and they share a ten-year-old son named Roman.
Debra is experiencing a much smoother period career-wise, with her current series The Mysteries of Laura hitting the air last month. The beauty plays a detective named Laura Diamond in the police procedural drama. Will has taken a guest role on ABC series Nashville.
