The 39-year-old actress was pictured being stopped by a police officer as she left a yoga class in Los Angeles on Thanksgiving morning.
In the images, Drew was seen looking nervous as she spoke to the law enforcement professional, who then cited her for jaywalking.
Jaywalking is defined as the illegal or reckless crossing of a road and is a crime in the United States.
Mother-of-two Drew didn’t let the incident ruin her Thanksgiving, however.
The actress, who has two children with husband Will Kopelman, later posted a message on her Facebook page explaining just what she is thankful for this holiday.
Drew’s image read: “I’m thankful for my girlfriends. Who were my first family. And now I am lucky enough to have another! And my girlfriends are there for my daughters. And it makes me overwhelmed with joy. Happy Thanksgiving to all the friends and families out there. Drew.”
Drew has been kept busy in recent weeks, shooting her new movie Miss You Already alongside Dominic Cooper in London.
The film also stars Toni Collette as Drew’s best friend, with the pair helping each other through the various challenges of their respective lives.
Drew recently spoke about what advice she would give if she had the opportunity to meet her younger self.
“It’s good to appreciate and remember to not be so hard on yourself because I bet it never looks as crazy as it does in your worried eyes,” she told People.com. “We have to be nicer to ourselves and we probably look thinner and younger and healthier and happier than we worried about in that moment.”
