The 44-year-old former wrestler's latest title had been rumoured earlier this week, but was only confirmed by the publication on Tuesday. Dwayne shows off his buff physique in a tight white T-shirt on the cover of the magazine, and admitted he is unsure what is left to achieve now he has received this honour.

And then I thought, ‘Wow, we’ve pretty much reached the pinnacle.’ I’m not quite too sure where we go from here. I’ve done it all, this is it."

The actor also retweeted the headline from People on Twitter, adding: "And I smell good... on most days. Truly an honor. Sexy time. #SexiestManAlive." He has since starred in movies such as the Fast & Furious franchise, San Andreas and the upcoming offerings Jumanji and Baywatch.

He has also enjoyed a successful personal life, recently welcoming daughter Jasmine with girlfriend Lauren Hashian. It's Jasmine and his 15-year-old daughter Simone, from his marriage to producer Dany Garcia, that Johnson is most proud of.

“I’ve made big sweeping changes in my career over the years, which have served me nicely,” he says. “But I feel that the big sweeping changes that happened in my life, in my relationships, of being a dad, of being a partner, and the things that I was and the things that I am, has really lent itself to a confidence.
