South African artist Steven Cohen was arrested in Paris on Tuesday for indecent exposure.

At 9.30 am, Steven emerged from his vehicle outside the Eiffel Tower and started “walking” a rooster up and down in front of hundreds or tourists. Steven was also dressed as a cock – wearing long red gloves, high heels and feathers on his head and hands. The rooster was tied to Steven’s genitals with a ribbon.

Steven was taken into custody for indecent exposure shortly after the performance, Le Parisien newspaper reports. He was released later Tuesday afternoon, but will appear in court on 16 December.

The artist is well-known for his controversial pieces, which often involve aspects of his identity as a gay Jewish man, writes Huffington Post.
