‘Enough is enough!’ Dineo Moeketsi is gatvol

Dineo Moeketsi has had enough! The Vuzu presenter has hit back at followers on Instagram who keep telling her that she needs to stop losing weight. “We have to come to a place where we say ‘enough is enough’. We are getting to an incredible level of cruelty on social media. People are adopting American habits and it’s not okay. I actually don’t know how people like the Kardashians handle it,” she says.

'I don’t do this for your approval. I’m on a personal journey of building my self-confidence'

Dineo has fallen victim to people telling her she is losing too much weight and they preferred it when she was curvier. She realised that if she doesn’t fight for herself then no one else will.

“You can’t see that on the regular. It breaks you. There are days where you ignore it and then there are days when it’s just enough,” she says with a sigh.

The star says she has struggled with her weight and decided about a year ago that she was going to set a goal for herself so she could be comfortable with her weight and body image.

“I don’t do this for your approval. I’m on a personal journey of building my self-confidence. These personal goals that I am setting for myself give me such a rush and such a zest for life,” she says with a smile.

She says what annoys her is that there were people who called her fat when she was gaining weight and then there are those who are attacking her for losing it.

“You are making people feel like their frames are not good enough – like they are ugly. You are using words as an attack to make me feel bad about myself,” she says shaking her head.

Dineo says she’s realised however that people who hide behind social media to bring other people down have their own problems to deal with.

“When people say mean things like that they are doing in aid of feeling better about themselves,” says a poised Dineo.

She also says men need to stop projecting their fantasies onto women by saying things like “You should be a lot thicker”.

“That is unfair. That is perversion. I am not your fantasy. It’s not okay,” she says sternly. Dineo says she is 3kgs short of her goal weight and she is getting stronger every day while pushing herself more and more when exercising. You go girl!
