The 33-year-old actor and his girlfriend Eva Mendes welcomed baby Esmerelda, their first child, into the world in September.
But Ryan’s hectic career soon meant that he was forced away from his new family to shoot upcoming movie The Nice Guys in Atlanta.
However, according to a source, Ryan and Eva have been keeping in touch using FaceTime – an app which allows people to video chat on their phones.
E! News cites an insider as revealing “Eva and Ryan FaceTime constantly so he can keep up with his little girl”.
In addition, Ryan is doing his utmost to get back as much as possible in between filming, and was last seen back in Los Angeles last weekend.
Eva made her first public appearance since giving birth to Esmerelda this week, and looked incredible in a black cardigan and cropped trousers.
And while Eva’s post-baby body is sure to have left even the most slender of yummy mummies green with envy, she apparently credits “good genes” for snapping back into shape.
"Eva's flattered that people think she looks good, but she's not taking complete credit for it,” the source told E!. “She knows genetics plays a big role. She has great genes.”
"Overall, she's trying to eat only when hungry and not snack too much.”
While Eva is sticking to a relatively healthy diet, she also allows herself the odd treat – namely her mother’s cooking.
"For her splurges, her mother's been cooking her traditional Spanish dishes,” the source added. “Those are her treats. While Ryan is gone, her mother has been spending a lot of time helping her.”
