Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes have reportedly named their daughter Esmeralda. According to TMZ.com, the pair chose The Hunchback of Notre Dame inspired moniker for their little girl, who was born on September 12. The website, who obtained the birth certificate, also revealed that the Hollywood couple chose Amada as their daughter’s middle name.
'They're both great, but exhausted. They know it's going to be a little while before the baby adjusts to a schedule'
It seems Eva may have been inspired by the name of the character she played in Mark Wahlberg movie We Own the Night.
It was recently claimed that both Ryan and Eva are “infatuated” by the new addition to their family, and are becoming more and more comfortable with their new domestic roles.
“Ryan and Eva are getting more confident in doing things themselves,” an insider told the outlet.
"They're both great, but exhausted. They know it's going to be a little while before the baby adjusts to a schedule."
Eva, 40, and Ryan, 33, began dating in 2011 and co-starred as parents in 2012 drama The Place Beyond the Pines.
America’s OK! magazine initially reported the actress was seven months pregnant with their first child back in July. Several outlets followed suit, sending fans into a frenzy, although the claims went unconfirmed by the pair’s representatives.
Ryan and Eva recently collaborated on his directorial debut, Lost River, which premiered at Cannes in May.
The actor told UK newspaper The Times shortly after he began dating the star that he would "make movies until I make babies”.
Eva currently has no film projects forthcoming, but Ryan is attached to two major motion pictures. He is set to star in the Untitled Terrence Malick Project and mystery crime thriller The Nice Guys, which are due for release in 2015 and 2016 respectively.
