Ultramarathon runner Ryan Sandes and his wife Vanessa Haywood are officially parents!
The athletic super-couple announced the arrival of their baby boy Max yesterday on social media.
According to Ryan, the little one was named after actress Vanessa’s grandfather. “Vanessa was very fond of him,” the world-renowned runner told YOU. “And the fact that he came out of Vanessa's tummy at a strapping 4 kg's makes his name pretty apt.” “We are super stoked that it's a boy as we already have a daughter in our four-legged fur-child, Thandi.”

But is Ryan hoping that Max becomes an super-athlete like his father? "I will never force him to follow in my footsteps. If he wants to be a ballerina or a play piano I will be just as thrilled for him. "Obviously from my side it would be awesome to running or cycling in the mountains with him, but its far more important to me that he is happy and follows his dreams and passions in life."
