'Fake' Van Gogh painting is worth £30 m

accreditation

A "fake" Vincent Van Gogh painting found dumped in an attic has been revealed to be a genuine artwork worth up to £30 million (R465 million).

The Sunset at Montmajour landscape piece has been checked by experts who, along with the help of forensics tests, decided it was created by the legendary Dutch artist in 1888.

This comes after the Van Gogh Museum said in 1991 they didn't think the canvas was real; it was also branded a copy in 1908 and kept in a loft.
