The South African Paralympic Team has won their first gold medal at this year's Games in Rio de Janeiro!
On Thursday just after 11 pm South African time, Kevin Paul (25) won the first gold medal for South Africa in the men's 100 m breaststroke in a time of 1:04.86.
The swimming champ also won gold in Beijing eight years ago. He was only 17 years old.
While Kevin celebrated his win, it was a sad day for another of South Africa's star athletes.
Hilton Langenhoven was disqualified from the 400 m semi-finals for stepping out of his lane.
Hilton is partially sighted, but not completely blind. Although his dream of a gold medal in the 400 m is over, Hilton is set to participate in the long jump on Saturday morning, for which he won gold in the 2004 Games in Athens.
