The 20-year-old singer is famous for his lengthy, curly locks. But bandmate Liam Payne says not all the group’s fans are keen on Harry’s somewhat feminine look.
'Someone had made and then a sign saying Harry cut your hair'
Referring to signs at the band’s concerts, Liam said: “There was one the other day, there was some scissors…massive scissors that someone had made and then a sign saying ‘Harry cut your hair.'”
But Harry insists he isn’t offended by the criticism of his ‘do. He also revealed that some of the close-to-the-mark signs are the ones he often finds the most amusing.
“The abusive signs are sometimes the funniest ones,” Harry told ODE – On Demand Entertainment – in a new video interview.
“Like ‘you guys suck, I’m here for the drummer,’ or ‘you guys suck, I’m here for the photographer.’ “
“Or ‘I thought this was an AC/DC concert’,” Liam laughed.
The British five-piece, consisting of Harry, Liam, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson, were formed on The X Factor UK in 2010 and have gone on to enjoy worldwide success.
Things have certainly moved on since One Direction scored their first hit with What Makes You Beautiful in 2011. They are in the process of promoting their fourth album, the aptly titled Four, and insist it's nothing like their previous records.
"This is the one we're most proud of," Harry explained. "We feel like we've got better songs this time."
Zayn added: "It's a progression, which is a nice word to go to."
Four is due for release on November 17.
