Simon Cowell is planning to wed New York socialite Lauren Silverman after she’s had their baby, his first child.
The 54-year-old media mogul reportedly wants to please his mom, Julie (87), as she's always wanted him to settle down. A source told the UK’s Sun newspaper, "Simon's mom has always dreamt of the day he settles down with one woman, and he's determined for her to be a big part of the day."
Lauren – who recently divorced wealthy real-estate owner Andrew Silverman with whom she has a seven-year-old son, Adam – has agreed to a church wedding near Julie's home in Sussex, England, in 2014 and plans to also hold a blessing in America which her friends can enjoy.
The couple’s ceremony will apparently be an intimate affair, with the guest list featuring only a few celebrities including X Factor judge Louis Walsh, hypnotist Paul McKenna, Top Shop owner Philip Green and Simon's ex-girlfriend Sinitta.
Earlier this month Simon posted a series of cryptic messages on Twitter, promising his fans some exciting news in the near future, which is rumoured to be the announcement of his engagement to his pregnant girlfriend.
He wrote on the social networking site, "Excited to reveal some news in the next few weeks. Am feeling very positive right now. It's been hard work but nothing should be too easy.
"In life you can obsess about other people's failures or focus on your own mistakes and work hard to make sure you don't repeat them.
