Katie Holmes is “very happy”. The 35-year-old actress is balancing her life as a mother to Suri Cruise with her busy acting career, as well as her newest foray into directing. And at this point, everything is apparently smooth sailing.
'I love being a mom. It's challenging sometimes, but it's such a beautiful relationship'
"I feel very happy,'' she told USA Today. "And I am excited for projects that are coming up. I'm excited to do [TV miniseries] The Kennedys again. I love being a mom. It's challenging sometimes, but it's such a beautiful relationship.''
Katie had her eight-year-old daughter with her ex-husband Tom Cruise, to whom she was married from 2006 until their divorce in 2012. She appears to be taking time to be grateful for the fact that things are going well in her life, which she spends between New York and Los Angeles.
“My family is really healthy,” Katie added. “Things are good. My grandma just turned 90. My mom got her a hot-pink boa and crown. That's what we're all going for. A hot pink boa and a crown."
Her latest project, Miss Meadows, is set for release on November 14. Katie stars as the title character in the drama film, and she has also spoken out about the quirky sexual nature of the role. She apparently found her love scenes as the racy school teacher quite funny to work on.
"Miss Meadows... this was her first experience,” the star explained in another recent interview with America’s Extra TV.
“So I thought it was funny to watch someone of her age kind of go through that and get a kick out of it. She really got a kick out of it, and I thought that was really funny. You don't really think about somebody getting a kick out of it. It's usually something else."
