Herschelle Gibbs and his girlfriend Sherrin Davie have split, she confirmed exclusively to YOU. She says the split happened before the former Proteas batsman was reportedly arrested for drunken driving in Cape Town over the weekend. According to reports Herschelle (40) may have been speeding when he collided with another car in Camps Bay on Sunday evening. His next court appearance is on 25 November 2015.
'I ended the relationship with Herschelle and I’m moving on with my life'
Herschelle and Sherrin started dating in February last year and were snapped at numerous social events together. ‘‘I ended the relationship with Herschelle and I’m moving on with my life,’’ she says. ‘‘I guess there comes a point in a relationship when it’s no longer working or healthy for you. As hard as it is, you have to put yourself first and make the right decision to walk away for your own future happiness, emotional stability and wish them the best,’’ she says.
On Monday Herschelle posted the following quote on his Instagram page: ‘‘Vanity, sex and destruction. You eat it all up because you were told that it tastes good.’’ Just a day earlier – on the same day he was reportedly arrested – he posted a pic of him at the Camps Bay hotspot Café Caprice. When one of his followers commented, “Eish a brother can’t enjoy his summer and the cops wanna spoil his fun!’, Herschelle replied, “Na guy @suving.. completely my fault..#sillyboy’’.
