An American man has sued a doctor after an operation left him with a constant erection.
Daniel Metzgar (44) has resorted to legal action after a penile implant fitted by Dr Thomas J Desperito in 2009 left him with a swollen scrotum ? the size of a volleyball ? and a raised manhood for eight months.
In a lawsuit in New Castle, Wilmington, a court heard Metzgar believes the operation was "botched" and he was unable to carry out everyday tasks such as collecting the newspaper and riding his motorbike.
Metzgar told the court, "I could hardly dance, with an erection poking my partner."
Lawyers representing Dr Thomas ? who denies responsibility ? claims the unfortunate result can sometimes occur but wasn't anyone's fault.
The truck driver had the implant removed in 2010 after the tubing from the device pierced his scrotum during a family holiday.
