The rumoured couple were romantically linked in late June following the Coldplay frontman’s split from wife Gwyneth Paltrow in March. The 24-year-old Hunger Games star was even seen watching the 37-year-old perform as a guest at the Kings of Leon concert at the Hollywood Bowl earlier in October.
'It’s just so complicated with so much going on'
But the union has now come to an end, according to US Weekly.
A source said the split was due to the pair’s busy schedules.
“They really like each other,” the insider explained. “But it’s just so complicated with so much going on.”
There had been no official confirmation from Jennifer or Chris as to their romantic status, rumours of which erupted shortly after Jennifer split from actor Nicholas Hoult.
However, they had numerous public outings together.
The actress was spotted watching Chris perform at the iHeart Radio Music Festival in September. They were later seen arriving at a private Los Angeles airport together after flying in from the Las Vegas event.
Even Jennifer’s grandmother Carolyn Koch appeared to acknowledge there was a budding romance.
“Jennifer's mum flew to Los Angeles to meet Chris. We will have to get another chair for the dinner table at Christmas,” she reportedly told UK newspaper The Sun.
Meanwhile, Jennifer gave clues as to what she’s looking for romantically in the November issue of Vanity Fair magazine.
She declared her partner must not be “afraid to fart” in front of her, and must also be interested in reality television.
“Basically, what I'm saying is all I need in a relationship is somebody to watch TV with me,” she explained.
